Does a full frame make a difference? Is it worth buying a full-frame camera?Do I need to spend money on an expensive full frame or is it better to buy a cropped camera?..

Decoding Sony Camera Series and Model LabelsIn this article, we will focus on decoding the Sony camera series.
Model overview based on user reviews
The Sony A7r IV kit is highly praised for its exceptional frame detail and 61MP sensor, allowing for significant cropping without quality loss, making it ideal for portrait and product photography. Users appreciate the fast and accurate autofocus, particularly the real-time eye focusing feature, which enhances shooting efficiency. The camera's in-body stabilization is effective, enabling handheld shooting with minimal noise up to ISO 6400. Despite its high resolution, some users note increased noise and moire in video, but the overall image quality and stabilization compensate for these minor drawbacks. The camera's ergonomics and control logic are well-received, and the dual memory card slots add convenience for managing photos and videos separately. While the starting price is steep, the Sony A7r IV is considered a versatile and reliable choice for professionals seeking high detail and performance.
Pros
Cons
At the moment, this is the camera with the highest resolution on the market (with the exception of some medium format cameras, and there is already a different price for cameras and optics), it is not difficult to shoot a session from one frame of the model to extract at least 3, just by framing it as needed, without losing quality, and with such a resolution, Sony did not deprive the camera of good stabilization and an electronic shutter, since the higher the resolution, the greater the likelihood of seeing micro-blurring (by the way, you need to be extremely careful with the electronic shutter, this is not an everyday tool, it’s worth taking into account lighting and should not be used when filming a report). Well, despite this, the camera is not deprived of very fast and accurate autofocus, which makes it a universal fighter Insane detail, matrix stabilization, excellent ergonomics and control logic, focusing at height More noisy compared to other full-frame cameras that have lower resolution (but you can’t fool physics here), moire is also noticeable when shooting video, which is also associated with high resolution |
I bought the cameras to replace the old seven, and I really liked the improved grip, which made it much more comfortable to hold in my hands. Her autofocus was a pleasant surprise; I didn’t expect such agility from her and that she would be so good at capturing and maintaining focus on an object in the frame. The camera also takes decent evening pictures; the ISO can be greatly increased without losing quality. Two slots for memory cards, at first I thought that this function was not particularly needed for me, but then I got so used to it that I don’t understand how I used to live with one slot, I record photos on one card and video on the second. Also, the video is divine, 4K and all the additional features for it. I’m just getting to know this camera, but I already understand that it will be a reliable friend for a very long time) A huge selection of lenses So far I have not identified any shortcomings |
For quite a long time now, my main working camera has been the Canon EOS 5DSR, since I prioritize detail and the ability to crop the photo during post-processing without losing quality when shooting portrait and product photography. And recently, knowing my preferences, I was offered to test a new product from Sony - the A7R IV. So, while things are still fresh, I decided to write a review. It might seem that the megapixel race is over, and brands are beginning to focus on precision and autofocus speed, so the new 61MP sensor from Sony surprised me even more. The level of detail is impressive, capturing even the smallest details, with every eyelash visible, and most importantly, all this while shooting handheld. In my work, I've long been accustomed to using a tripod, because the pixel size forces me to use longer exposures. The in-body stabilization performs its job perfectly. The second revelation for me was the autofocus; now, you can forget about the central focus point, as the camera has learned to focus on the model's eye by itself. For other situations, the touchscreen is very convenient. In practice, there is no noticeable noise up to ISO 6400; at 12800, there is some, but it can be removed in editing. All this made me seriously consider switching to this camera permanently. Undoubtedly, the camera is very niche and not for everyone, but after working with it, it is very difficult to continue shooting with something simpler. Excellent frame detail! If necessary, you can easily crop the image or enable crop mode. The autofocus is fast and accurate, with convenient real-time eye focusing. After working with DSLR cameras, the more compact dimensions and lightweight design of the device are noteworthy. The starting price is steep |
