Optical output

— audio output (including multi-channel) in digital form via fibre optic cable. It is one of the varieties of the S / P-DIF interface, along with coaxial connector (see the relevant paragraph). At the same time, an important advantage of the optical connection is complete insensitivity to electrical interference. However, such cable must be protected from strong pressure and bending — such impacts can damage the delicate optical fibre.
