Laptops with AMD Zen 5 Strix Point
AMD Zen 5 Strix Point (9th generation)
— the Strix Point hybrid processors have become part of the Ryzen AI 300 series. Their production has been established since mid-2024. The chips of the family are manufactured using TSMC's 4-nanometer process technology and contain up to a dozen computing cores: classic Zen 5 and energy-efficient Zen 5c.The AMD Zen 5 Strix Point processors use an integrated graphics subsystem based on RDNA 3.5 and provide an XDNA 2 artificial intelligence accelerator, which has a performance of 50 TOPS (trillion operations per second). The NPU unit is quite capable of performing "heavy" AI calculations. The memory controller in Strix Point supports 160-bit DDR5-5600 RAM and 128-bit LPDDR5-7500. Potentially, the processors of the line will serve as an excellent solution for both economical thin laptops with integrated graphics and a fast NPU, and for powerful laptops with discrete video cards.
