Uncharted

— a series of adventure action games with elements of third-person shooter and platformer, released by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation consoles. The player takes on the role of Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter and explorer of historical mysteries, experiencing adventures in various corners of the globe. The gameplay includes jumping between platforms and swinging ropes, swimming, climbing, fighting enemies, and solving puzzles. In later games, the role of various vehicles (cars, boats) was expanded, RPG elements were added, and there was a shift from strictly linear level progression towards an open world: players could freely explore vast locations and complete missions in different ways, including stealth.

As of 2019, the Uncharted series for home consoles includes 4 main games (the first three for PS3 with a remaster for PS4 in 2015, the fourth only for PS4) plus a standalone expansion for the fourth part. Additionally, two titles were released for PS Vita and one for smartphones.

Overall, the Uncharted series has been extremely successful commercially and received high critical acclaim — in particular, claims were made that the games in the series "raised the quality bar for the action-adventure genre." The series received widespread recognition for its well-developed storyline, design, character animation and voice acting, musical accompaniment, and "cinematic" style, similar to high-budget Hollywood films.
