The Last Of Us

— a series of action-adventure/survival horror games from a third-person perspective with stealth elements, released exclusively for the PlayStation platform. Developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. As of 2020, it includes two titles: the original The Last Of Us in two editions (2013 for PS3, 2014 as "The Last Of Us Remastered" for PS4) and The Last Of Us 2, released in June 2020. The games in the series are set in a post-apocalyptic setting following a global pandemic that causes dangerous mutations in humans and animals. In the first part, the player takes on the role of one of the survivors, a smuggler named Joel, who escorts a teenage girl, Ellie, on a journey across the epidemic-ravaged United States; in certain chapters, control switches to Ellie. The combat system involves extensive use of improvised tools; stealth gameplay is also encouraged, as many enemies are easier to bypass quietly than to defeat in open combat. This task is facilitated by the "listening mode," which allows players to "see" enemies even through opaque obstacles. In the second part, the main character is now 19-year-old Ellie, with Joel appearing as a secondary character, and the gameplay has been expanded and refined, particularly towards greater freedom of movement due to higher jump heights. Stealth and the use of environmental elements, as well as the aforementioned "listening mode," continue to play an important role in the gameplay. The first part of the game received high ratings from players and critics and showed excellent commercial results. The second was even more successful: in 2017 and 2018, it received several awards as the most anticipated game of the year, and after its release, it became the fastest-selling PS4 game in history (4 million copies in the first 3 days of sales).
