Model overview based on user reviews
The Garmin Fenix 5S Plus Sapphire is a beautiful and functional smartwatch designed for sports enthusiasts. It boasts high build quality and materials, with a long-lasting battery that can endure up to a week and a half with regular workouts. The watch is water-resistant, allowing users to shower with it, although care should be taken to avoid soap contact as it may cause the paint to peel. It offers accurate heart rate measurement and includes NFC for convenient payments without needing a wallet or smartphone. However, some users have noted that the paint may peel over time, which is a concern given the watch's high price. Despite this, the watch remains a popular choice for its functionality and design.

Cons

Beautiful and functional watch for sports
31 July 2020
The watch is certainly expensive, but the appearance, whatever you say, is simply gorgeous. Build quality / materials at a high level. In the year that I have them, the paint on the edges has peeled off a little, and the glass is in perfect condition. The battery charge lasts a very long time. With 3-4 workouts a week, I can charge them once every week and a half. I'm not a big swimmer and haven't tested them in a pool, but I can shower with them without any problems. The only caveat is that I try not to get soap on them, otherwise the paint may peel off. Very accurate heart rate measurement. The functionality is usual for such watches, all kinds of sports. I like that there is NFC and I don’t have to take my wallet or smartphone with me to workouts. Satisfied for hours.

model with serious flaws

What kind of slag should be sold to people so that for such grandmas a year later the paint begins to peel off the watch (as they write here in the comments) ... horror ...
shows the time
the quality of the case is some kind of misunderstanding for your money

Under the sign of the fiery bird Phoenix, some of the most advanced multi-sport watches on the market today are produced. The unisex version of the 42mm 5S Plus wearable has received such a significant upgrade package that it would be appropriate to rank it among the sixth generation of “phoenixes”.

Features

The model has a huge number of features for both professional athletes and advanced adherents of an active lifestyle. Things have gone so far that the watch itself determines the current type of user activity, collecting a complete package of training information and analyzing the results in the Garmin Connect application. For example, when jogging, the wearable gadget registers the speed, steps taken and calories burned, while rowing — the number of strokes, and when skiing or snowboarding — the speed and time of skiing, taking into account the slope of the ski slope. At the end of the workout, the watch gives out a verdict — whether you gave it your all, overexerted yourself or did not finish it.

Lucky Borrowing

The model borrowed one of the important innovations from the Garmin Fenix 5X, and spied a couple of “chips” from the Garmin Forerunner 645 Music. In the first case, we are talking about supporting the ability to download colour topographic maps for navigating the area and tracking the location using the coordinates of GPS, GLONASS and Galileo satellites. The second feature is a built-in audio player for playing music tracks bypassing a smartphone. Songs are downloaded to the internal memory of the watch (16 GB), and Bluetooth headphones are connected to them directly. Switching tracks, as well as setting and unpausing playback are performed using physical buttons, since support for touch input is not implemented in the watch.

Garmin Pay System

Thanks to the NFC chip, along with the integration of the model into the Garmin Pay payment system , it is possible to pay for any purchases using the contactless payment method through the watch. The password for making a payment is entered once during the day and after each removal of the gadget from the wrist. The repulsive factor from the momentary addition of the Garmin Fenix 5S Plus to the cart is the high cost. Otherwise, smartwatches are rightfully considered a top product in the niche of models with a pronounced sports component.

Additional features smart watch Garmin Fenix 5S Plus:
  • Sports modes: running, golf, cycling, water sports, etc.
  • Linking with Connect IQ
  • Step counting up to the number of steps climbed (automatically).
  • TracBack and Sight'n Go features
