Model overview based on user reviews
The Garmin Forerunner 920XT is a smartwatch with a pronounced aggressive-sporty style, ideal for triathletes. It features a robust design with IP68 protection, making it suitable for swimming. The watch is equipped with large, easy-to-press buttons and a quick satellite-finding GPS module. It effectively tracks running, swimming, and cycling activities, calculating distances, speed, and calorie consumption, while also estimating recovery time after intense workouts. The built-in altimeter, barometer, and compass enhance its functionality. While it excels in sports tracking, it may not blend well with casual attire due to its distinct style and weight of nearly 70 grams. It connects with smartphones to display notifications, but lacks the ability to send commands back, such as rejecting calls or controlling music. Despite its high price, the Garmin Forerunner 920XT is praised for its measurement accuracy and is considered an ideal choice for those engaged in multi-sport racing.
Pros

Cons

good model, I liked it.
20 November 2017
I played a variety of sports, including athletics and swimming. Well, since the bike is my best friend from an early age, my arrival in triathlon was simply a foregone conclusion. I like this kind of multi-sport racing, and for competitions and training, smartwatches are very helpful. Of course, such a model from Garmin is very expensive, no doubt about it. But when it comes to measurement accuracy, this smartwatch is almost the best option. And since they are specially tailored for triathlon in general and its individual stages in particular, for me this is almost an ideal option.
The case has a pronounced aggressive-sporty style, those who have come across such watches will recognize them instantly. The case is protected according to the IP68 standard, that is, you can and should swim in them. The buttons are rather large, it is convenient to press them and at the same time I did not notice false accidental pressings. The watch is designed to evaluate the performance of running, swimming and cycling races. That is, triathletes are the most that neither is the target audience. The built-in GPS module finds satellites quickly. If the start is cold, then to speed it up, it is desirable to have a wifi connection with a smartphone or a wired one with a personal computer. This speeds things up a lot. Watches for all types of activities fix distances, calculate speed and calorie consumption, estimate and suggest the time needed to recover after a heavily loaded workout or competition. They have a built-in altimeter, barometer and compass. Like any smartwatch, it can work with smartphones, show notifications, messages and reminders.
It is difficult to wear with ordinary clothes, they are very different in style from casual. They also weigh decently, almost 70 grams. The clock receives information from the smartphone and displays it on the screen, but nothing can be sent in the opposite direction - neither the call can be rejected, nor the player can be switched.
