It would seem that an ordinary wrist watch in a classic "wrapper", if you do not dig deeper. Thanks to the built-in sensors, the model counts the number of steps taken, reminds you to move during prolonged inactivity, and monitors the quality of sleep. The collected data is interpreted in a readable form for display in the branded application for mobile devices Garmin Connect. Also indicators of the percentage of the norm of daily activity and the level of calories burned are displayed on the indicators built directly into the Garmin Vivomove arrow dial. The wearable gadget is protected on all fronts from dust and water (according to passport data, the watch can safely dive to a depth of 50 m), and on a single charge of a CR2032 battery, the device works autonomously for one year. The watc...hes are presented in three versions on store shelves: Classic with a leather strap, Premium with a steel case and a leather strap, and Sport with a silicone strap. Stylish electromechanical watch + fitness tracker
21 November 2017
Chinese fitness trackers from Xiaomi are only good because of their low price. Compared to devices from more renowned manufacturers, they win hands down on this indicator. However, I don’t like their primitive design. I had the option to spend more, so I chose Garmin.
This is not just a pop plastic fitness tracker, one of those millions churned out by the Chinese. These are full-fledged electromechanical watches, with two scales on the dial. The one on the left shows the total daily activity, and the one on the right is an indicator warning against inactive behavior. Every 15 minutes of sitting or lying still adds one red segment to this indicator, and when the indicator is fully filled, roughly after an hour, the watch reminds you to move, take a walk, and shake off some fat. Walking more than 100-120 meters is enough to reset the inactivity indicator. The program for the distance covered in a day, more precisely the number of steps, is transmitted to the watch from a smartphone using the special brand app Garmin Connect Mobile, and the connection is maintained through the energy-efficient Bluetooth protocol standard 4.0. In fact, this thing is really useful – I lost three kilograms in a month of using it, and it didn't take much effort. Well, I still had to give up evening binges. The watch looks strict and versatile. You can wear it with jeans or a classic business suit. The movement of the electromechanical watch is almost perfect, running ahead by about 15-20 seconds in four weeks. Everything runs on a capacious lithium battery, which should last for a year. Therefore, making the case water-resistant wasn't too difficult for the manufacturer. The watch can be bathed and briefly submerged to a shallow depth of up to 1 meter.
The watch cannot distinguish between running and walking, and additional load when climbing stairs is also not taken into account.
