— classic fantasy RPG, one of the most famous representatives of the genre from Blizzard. Technically, these are not pure RPGs, but action/RPGs (hack'n'slash). The plot of the game revolves around a confrontation between demons led by Diablo (the main antagonist of the game) and angels, on whose side the protagonist fights. The player can choose a character of a certain class; in the first game, the difference between the classes is rather arbitrary, later more significant differences were added. The first part of the game was released back in 1996, for PS1 — in 1998. The second part was released in 2000 only for PC, while it entered the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest selling game in history (as of the same year 2000), the last update for it dates back to 2016. One of the interesting features of the second part was a full-fledged multiplayer that allows any kind of interaction in the game world: joint execution of tasks (with joining forces and sharing the experience gained), trading and exchanging equipment, enmity with PvP battles. At the same time, you can play both on specialized Realm game servers and on servers created by the players themselves (the disadvantage of the second option is the possibility of cheating character editing). The third part was presented in 2012, for the Xbox 360 and PS3 — in 2013, for the Nintendo Switch — in 2018. A technical feature of Diablo III is the need for a constant connection to the Internet — even for single player, the proprietary service Battle.net is used (the server part is responsible for generating content, opponents and items at game levels).
For each part, add-ons were released, including additional classes of characters and opponents, as well as story campaigns. For the first part, this is Hellfire from 1997 (considered non-canon), for the second — Lord of Destruction from 2001, for the third — Reaper Of Souls from 2014.
