As one of the most famous science fiction media franchises, Star Wars has spawned a huge number — over a hundred — of themed games across different genres and platforms. Among the most popular modern titles in this series for desktop platforms are Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Star Wars Battlefront II (2017), and LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which combines the Star Wars setting with Lego styling.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order was released in 2019 on PC, PS, and Xbox (published by Electronic Arts, main developer — Respawn Entertainment). It is an action-adventure game set after the events of the film "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." The player takes on the role of a Jedi apprentice (Padawan) who, after Order 66, which called for the mass killing of Jedi, must hide while completing his training. Battles primarily involve the use of lightsabers and additional skills provided by the Force. Unlike many Star Wars games, the character cannot choose the side of the Force and follows exclusively the Light side throughout the story. The game was successful and received high ratings.

Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) is a game from the same Electronic Arts (main developer — DICE) in the Battlefront subseries, which includes tactical first/third-person shooters in the format of individual or team battles on limited maps. It features a variety of game modes, weapons, equipment, and locations, covering all three main eras of the thematic Universe. It is also available on PC, PS, and Xbox. The game initially received mixed reviews due to a questionable monetization model, but the creators later made changes to improve the situation.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a game from the LEGO series in the Star Wars theme, developed by Traveller's Tales and released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in 2016 for a large number of platforms, both desktop and portable. It is the fifth game in the LEGO Star Wars subseries, based on the film "The Force Awakens." The gameplay, traditional for Lego games, includes interaction with "bricks" that make up the game world — specifically, the destruction and construction of various environmental elements. There are over two hundred playable characters in the game, including key heroes like Han Solo and Kylo Ren. It is also worth noting that the game's plot combines the events of the film "The Force Awakens" with the previous part, "Return of the Jedi." The game was received positively, although it did not achieve the same success as Jedi Fallen Order.
