The Last Of Us

— a series of third-person action-adventure/survival horror games with stealth elements released exclusively for the PlayStation platform. Developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. As of 2020, it includes two titles: the original The Last Of Us in two editions (2013 — PS3, 2014 — "The Last Of Us Remastered" for PS4) and The Last Of Us 2, released in June 2020.

The action of the games in the series takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting after a global pandemic that causes dangerous mutations in people and animals. In the first part, the player will take on the role of one of the survivors — the smuggler Joel, who accompanies the teenage girl Ellie on a journey through the United States devastated by the epidemic; in some chapters, control switches to Ellie. The combat system involves extensive use of improvised means; covert passage is also encouraged — many opponents are easier to quietly bypass than to defeat in open combat. A similar task is facilitated by the “listening mode”, which allows you to “see” opponents even through opaque obstacles.

In the second part, the main character is already 19-year-old Ellie, Joel appears as a secondary character, and the gameplay has been expanded and refined — in particular, towards greater freedom of movement due to greater jumping heights. An important role in the passage continues to play stealth and the use of environmental elements, as well as the mentioned "listening mode".

The first part of the game received high marks from players and critics and showed excellent commercial results. The second proved to be even more successful: back in 2017 and 2018, it received a number of awards as the most anticipated game of the year, and upon release it became the fastest selling PS4 game of all time (4 million copies in the first 3 days of sales).
